Home » Re~Cycle Your Bike At Halfords
If you have an old bike or two being swallowed up by cobwebs and dust in the shed, or are upgrading your bike for the coming summer of riding then we need your help. Ride25 and Halfords have teamed up with Re~cycle to make sure that all our old bikes find a new home with children and communities who could really benefit across Africa.
Today is the final day for you to drop your old bike/s off at any Halfords cycling stores in the UK, from where Re~cycle will ship them out to Africa. Halfords will also give you a 10% voucher off any new bike. Win, win we say!
It may seem like an insignificant thing, but sending your bike to be donated to a community could have a transformative effect. It is not uncommon for children to have to walk a 20km round trip just to get to school leaving them exhausted and potentially dropping out. To put it simply, your bike could keep a child in education. Research has shown that a bicycle can increase the income of a household in poverty by 35% – a significant difference to lives just by providing access to transport.
The environment and sustainability is at the heart of Re~cycle.org’s vision and we’d you to join us and take the opportunity to not only recycle your old bike, but bring positive change to people’s lives.
Grab your old bikes this lunchtime or straight after work and drop them off at Halfords. A huge thank you from Re~cycle and us at Ride25 for helping such a great project!
