Home » Tour de France Fever grips the nation!
We are loving the way that so many people across the country are getting into the spirit of the Tour de France!
With only 4 days to go until the world’s most famous cycle race makes its Grand Depart in Yorkshire, people are really going all out with some fun ways to celebrate the event’s big build up. Here are some of our faves…
Baa-rmy but fabulous! Painted sheep, all ready for Le Tour! Thanks to @BritishTexel for the pic.
Staff and kids from Westville House school in Ilkley created this ‘formidable’ human bike at their school sports day – and it moves as well! Check out the video here!
That’s one way to increase your foot fall! What a great way to make your business noticed!! This polka dot cafe in Langsett, Sheffield is on the Tour route on the 6th July. I wonder what the elite cyclists will think of it?! Thanks to @colingilchrist for the pic.
This carved tree in Harrogate is a work of art! Chainsaw sculptor Mick Burns spent 2 days carving this Tour de France cyclists into the 100 year old elm tree which can be seen heading up Montpellier hill in Harrogate. Thanks to @letour for the pic.
That’s what’s called getting into the spirit of Le Tour! Loving this man’s hedge in Kirkbymoorside in North Yorkshire. Thanks to @nicoladaffy for the pic.
Even Boris has got into the act with 101 yellow Boris Bikes dotted around the capital. Thanks to @saddleblaze for the pic.
And finally, possibly the best ‘Guide to Yorkshire’ there is… This tongue in cheek guide to the Yorkshire stage of the Tour de France by Camp Holme Moss sets the tone perfectly!
