St Gemma’s Hospice Leeds to Paris

Charity Bike Ride

Challenge yourself in 2015 and help raise vital funds for St Gemma’s Hospice by signing up to our new Leeds to Paris cycle challenge! St Gemma’s has teamed up with professional cycling tour company, Ride25, to offer this incredible challenge which will see us setting off from Leeds Town Hall steps and finishing under the magnificent Eiffel Tower in Paris! This leg is split over five days of cycling and covers 420 miles, with an average of 84 miles per day. As with all Ride25 and St Gemma’s Challenges you will be fully supported along the way and everything will be taken care of so all you need to do is soak up the sights and enjoy the ride.

All we ask is that you pay a registration fee of £99 to secure your place – and then fundraise a minimum of £2000 for St Gemma’s.

Itinerary


Day 2 - Loughbrough to Marlow
Day 2 - Loughbrough to Marlow
After an early start and a hearty breakfast we will head south, taking in the varied landscapes of Central England and finishing up in the picturesque town of Marlow.
Day 3 - Marlow to Brighton
Day 3 - Marlow to Brighton
Ever closer to France, we will complete our final full day on English soil today by taking in the dramatic White Cliffs. We will finish in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton, ready for the channel crossing on day four.
Day 4 - Newhaven to Gournay-en-Bray
Day 4 - Newhaven to Gournay-en-Bray
Starting with a bright and early cycle ride to Newhaven, we will then catch the ferry to Dieppe to complete the final two days of our journey on the French side of the channel. We will stay the night in the pretty town of Gournay-en-Bray.
Day 5 - Gournay-en-Bray to Paris

The final day of our adventure will see us coursing through scenic French countryside before finishing with a memorable ride along the Seine up to the iconic Eiffel Tour where we will conclude our tour and pose for slightly disheveled tourist photos!

What's Included


  • Five nights’ accommodation in a clean, comfortable hotel (in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Marlow, Brighton, Gournay-en-Bray and Paris).  All rooms will have twin beds and we will allocate you a room partner unless you specify who you would like to share with.  (You may select a single supplement for an extra £160 in the booking process if you prefer not to share a room)
  • Ferry trip from Newhaven to Dieppe
  • Three meals a day plus stops for snacks
  • Support vehicle to transport your luggage (clothes and supplies) from each stage to the next
  • Back-up vehicles to provide you with medical help and any assistance should you need a rest
  • A digital map in the format of a .gpx file for mobile navigation devices such as Garmin
  • Customised, waterproof route maps including essential directions, pitstops and interesting information on the area.
  • Two new, bespoke high quality breathable cycling shirts for use on your trip. These will be fully personalised for you and adorned with badges showing the number of Ride25 legs you have completed so far.
  • Daily fresh fruit and water in the support vehicles
  • Celebratory dinner
